About me
Carmen Nozal, a Spanish-Mexican author and cultural manager, has dedicated her life to poetry. Her unique lyrical voice addresses the mystical and social, connecting with readers around the world.
Award-winning and internationally recognized, her work as an author and cultural promoter has left a profound mark on the current poetry scene.

Biography.
Born in Gijón, Asturias, and living in Mexico since 1986, Carmen Nozal has forged one of the most solid and sensitive careers in contemporary Spanish-language poetry. Her work—deeply marked by mysticism, social justice, and memory—moves between free verse and classical forms.
A graduate of the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) and the SOGEM School of Writers, she has published more than twenty books of poetry, translated into English, French, Italian, German, Arabic, and other languages. She has received awards such as the Elías Nandino National Young Poetry Prize, the Naji Naaman Prize (Lebanon), and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in 2022.
She is the author of transdisciplinary projects with visual artists and the bilingual video "Around the World with 80 Poets." She has taught workshops and lectures at institutions such as UNAM, UAM, INBAL, and the Claustro de Sor Juana. As a cultural promoter, she has developed programs at MUNAL, Casa del Poeta, and the Ministry of Culture. She currently directs Konesh Arte y Cultura and coordinates the Ibero-American Poets Gathering in Mexico City.
